BATON ROUGE - Fresh off its impressive 78-72 win over Tulane, the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters will return to action Sunday afternoon when they face LSU at 3 p.m. at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
The contest can be heard on the LA Tech Sports Network on ESPN 97.7 FM with the pregame show beginning at 2:30 p.m. The game will also be televised live on Cox Sports Television.
LA Tech (6-3) enters the contest having won four straight games, including impressive victories over Mississippi State, Arkansas State and Tulane.
The Lady Techsters saw four players score in double figures in their six-point win over Tulane, led by junior guard Jasmine Bendolph with 17 points. Senior Tarkeisha Wysinger-Mackey added 16 points, while junior Kiara Young added 12 points and 12 rebounds for only her second career double double. Whitney Jones also added 12 points.
Tech shot a season-high 51 percent from the field in the win while outrebounded Tulane 53-26.
LSU (7-4) has registered three straight wins by an average margin of victory of more than 38 points per game. The Tigers four losses have come against teams that have a combined record of 33-5, including No. 1 ranked Connecticut (by 30), No. 7 ranked Ohio State (by 4), Tulane (by 2) and Northwestern (by 9).
LSU enters the game ranked as one of the nation's top defensive teams allowing opponents to average only 52.8 points per game (24th in country) while shooting only 33 percent from the field (9th in country).
The Tigers also have in impressive assist-to-turnover ratio as LSU has registered 163 assists while only committing 136 turnovers on the year.
Individually, sophomore guard Adrienne Webb leads LSU, averaging 13.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game while junior forward LaSondra Barrett is a close second averaging 11.6 points and 4.1 rebounds a game.
LA Tech leads the all-time series against LSU 14-11, although the Tigers have won five straight including last year's 77-74 victory in Ruston. The Lady Techsters are 73-48 all-time against current members of the SEC, including a 69-61 road win at Mississippi State earlier this year.
