RUSTON - Coming off their second consecutive winning season, the 2011-12 Louisiana Tech bowling team begin their season with the Greater Ozark Invitational competing against six nationally-ranked colleges.

Louisiana Tech will be one of eight teams traveling to Springfield, Missouri to compete in the eight team invitational. Among teams playing are fourth-ranked Central Missouri, sixth-ranked Arkansas State, seventh-ranked Sam Houston State, 13th-ranked Stephen F. Austin, 18th-ranked Valparaiso and 20th-ranked Prairie View A&M. Central Missouri, Arkansas State and Sam Houston State all qualified for the postseason in 2010-11.

"It is a pretty tough field for our first competition with Central Missouri, Arkansas State and Sam Houston State all qualifying for national championships last season," coach Shawn Jackson said. "However, it gives us an opportunity to see where we're act right now against some of the best schools in the country."

The 2010-11 Lady Techsters registered a 31-27 overall record, marking their second consecutive winning season. Tech returns all seven players, and welcomes two new players, including freshman Kay Rawls, who was an All-American in high school. The Lady Techsters are led by seniors Houston Granger and Amy Day.
