RUSTON - Coming off upset wins against 13th-ranked Stephen F. Austin and 20th-ranked Prairie View, the Louisiana Tech bowling team (3-10) travels to Baton Rouge to compete in the Southern Classic Nov. 4-6.
Louisiana Tech will be one of eight teams competing in the Southern Classic. Among teams playing are host Southern University, Jackson State University and Prairie View.
The Lady Techsters defeated Prairie View 4-2 in a Baker-best-of-seven on Oct. 30.
"There are a lot of good teams competing in this tournament," coach Shawn Jackson said. "I'm anxious to see how we bounce back from losing close games last week. We learned some things as a team last week and we'll see what happens this weekend."
Elizabeth Eldredge leads the Lady Techsters, averaging a score of 178.8. Eldredge and senior Houston Granger bowled a score of over 200 against Central Missouri and Stephen F. Austin, respectively. Granger bowled a 224 against Central Missouri, the highest of any Tech player this season.
