RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech (8-9; 0-2 WAC) will look to tally their first Western Athletic Conference win of the season when they take on the Vandals of Idaho at home in the Thomas Assembly Center Saturday at 2 p.m.
The Lady Techsters are looking to bounce back from two conference losses when they take on Idaho on Saturday. LA Tech fell to Utah State on Thursday, 3-1 but had numerous players contribute to the team offensively including junior transfer Marcella Braz who led all Lady Techsters with nine kills.
Louisiana Tech continues to see a number of athletes among the WAC best as Clara Vido ranks eighth in the WAC in kills and 10th in the WAC in points, averaging 3.02 kills and 3.34 points per game. Vido also ranks eighth in the conference in digs, averaging 3.21/game. Stephany Salas remains the best in the conference with her 5.12 digs/game average. Lone senior Bianca Bin is also in the mix of WAC leaders, averaging 8.05 assists/game, placing her seventh among the WAC best.
Idaho (6-9; 1-2 WAC) is coming off a loss to WAC opponent New Mexico State. The Vandals dropped their conference opener to Hawai'i, 3-1 before defeating San Jose State in three sets and then falling to New Mexico State, 3-1 earlier in the week.
Idaho is led by sophomore Allison Walker who averages 3.92 kills/game and ranks fourth among the WAC leader board. Junior Jennifer Feicht serves as the team's primary setter and has recorded 361 assists this season. Defensively, the Vandals are led by Senior Cassie Hamilton who averages 4.60 digs/game, which is second best in the WAC behind LA Tech's Salas.
Game time is slated for 2 p.m. in the Thomas Assembly Center.
