RUSTON - The Thomas Assembly Center being a home court advantage for the Louisiana Tech men's basketball team is an understatement.

Spanning the last five seasons, the Bulldogs have gone an impressive 22-0 in non-conference home games and look to continue that winning streak when they square off against the UALR Trojans on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. inside the TAC.

The matchup will be broadcast live on the LA Tech Sports Network, including KXKZ 107.5 FM (Ruston) and KJVC 92.7 FM (Mansfield) with the pregame show beginning at 6:30 p.m. Fans can also access the audio of the game via the Internet by subscribing to LA Tech All-Access at www.LATechSports.com.

"The home opener in the TAC is something that we've been looking forward to for a while," said head coach Michael White. "Our kids are excited to be able to compete in front of our fans against a very good UALR program."

The Bulldogs look to rebound from a 71-59 loss in their season opener at Texas A&M that saw the Bulldogs shoot 36% from the field, including 6-of-22 from three-point range.

"We hope to have some defensive carry-over from the Texas A&M game, while sharpening up some offensive inefficiencies," said White. "We must reduce turnovers and shoot a higher percentage."

UALR is guided by head coach Steve Shields in now his tenth season with the program. Shields has directed the Trojans to five division championships in the Sun Belt Conference and has his team 1-0 to start the 2012-13 season after an 84-68 victory over UT Martin.

The Trojans had four players score in double figures, including forward Will Neighbour who posted a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

This matchup has become a yearly battle between the two schools separated by three hours as this will be the sixth consecutive year they have met on the basketball court. LA Tech was a 71-68 winner last season, pushing their all-time series lead to 25-13.

From 1993-2001, the two teams played each other twice a year with each hosting a game. The same will be done this season as the Bulldogs will face the Trojans again on Dec. 17 in Little Rock, Ark.
