INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Louisiana Tech sprinter Trey Hadnot will return to the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships later this week as the NCAA announced the 2013 championship qualifiers.
The junior from Ruston, La., will run in the semifinals on Friday, March 8 at 7:45 p.m. as part of the 16-person field. The top eight advance to the finals, which will be held at 8:40 p.m. Friday. Both races will be broadcast live on ESPN3.com.
Hadnot was a national semifinalist last year and a second team All-American in the indoor 200m dash.
The seven-time Western Athletic Conference Champion enters the national meet ranked ninth with a time of 20.81. LSU's Aaron Ernst leads the pack with a national-best time of 20.53.
A two-time second team All-American, Hadnot is hoping to become an NCAA Finalst for the first time in his career.
Hadnot represents 25 percent of Louisiana's entries at the NCAA Championships and the only one from North Louisiana. The other three entries from the Pelican State come from LSU. He is one of six male athletes representing the WAC at the NCAA Championships.
