KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Make it seven straight years for head coach Kevin Sherry and the Louisiana Tech soccer program as they once again received the NSCAA Team Academic Award.
LA Tech was one of 582 women's collegiate soccer teams which posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the award for the 2013-14 academic year.
The Lady Techsters were one of 10 Conference USA schools to receive this honor while also having the highest cumulative GPA in the state of Louisiana with a 3.37.
"It has been a great season and to once again receive the team academic award is the icing on the cake," head coach Kevin Sherry said. "The ladies are very diligent about their studies and soccer and I could not be more proud of them."
The NSCAA annually recognizes college and high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their work on the field.
Founded in 1941 and based in Kansas City, Kan., the NSCAA is a non-profit organization with a mission to educate coaches, encourage excellence and serve the soccer community.
