@LATechGolf Drops to 13th in Second Round of C-USA Championship

EDMOND, Okla. - Louisiana Tech struggled down the stretch in Monday' second round of the Conference USA Golf Championship, dropping to 13th place entering Tuesday's final round at the Oak Tree Country Club in Edmond.

Louisiana Tech joined 12 of the other 13 teams in improving on its team score during the second round, shooting 17-over-par after opening the tournament at 24-over-par Sunday. Only North Texas (18-over-par 298) shot a worse round Monday than the opening round. However, the Bulldogs struggled near the end of Monday's round and finished the day in 13th at 41-over-par (304-297=601).

Victor Lange was 3-over-par (73) Monday, dropping from second to tied for fifth, but remained in the hunt for the individual title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament as he finished the day four strokes back of the leader. The sophomore from South Africa is currently 1-over-par (68-73=141) over two rounds, tied with Charlotte's Raoul Menard and Rice's Tommy Economou.

Jack Lempke finished the day 4-over-par and enters the final round in 39th at 10-over-par (76-74=150). Chuck Spears follows four strokes behind Lempke and enters Tuesday's last round at 14-over-par (79-75=154).

Tulsa leads the team scoring at 9-over-par (288-281=569) and holes a three-shot lead over Charlotte (12-over-par, 291-281=572). No. 18 UAB is in third place at 13-over-par (290-283=573). Tulsa's Logan McCracken leads the tournament at 3-under-par.

Louisiana Tech will tee off the final round of the Conference USA Championship at 7:42 a.m. Tuesday as the Bulldogs will be paired with Florida Atlantic in twosomes. Ben Robinson will start off the action for the Bulldogs with Lange teeing off last at 8:18 a.m.
