Sept. 15, 2014
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Officials from the Southeastern Conference and Auburn announced Monday that the Louisiana Tech at Auburn football game on Sept. 27 will be televised by the SEC Network and will kick off at 3 p.m. CT.
The game on The Plains will be Louisiana Tech's final non-conference game of the season. Auburn is ranked No. 5 in both the Associated Press and the Coaches polls as of Sept. 15. Entering the game at Auburn, Louisiana Tech will be playing its fourth game of the season (out of five) on the road against bowl teams from a year ago. The Bulldogs have already played at then-No. 4/3 Oklahoma, Louisiana-Lafayette and North Texas, coming away with upset road victories in the last two.
The announcement of the game on the SEC Network confirms that 11 out of Louisiana Tech's 12 regular season games this season will be broadcast.
Prior to traveling to Auburn, Louisiana Tech (2-1) will host Northwestern State at Joe Aillet Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 20. With the kickoff coming at 6:05 p.m. CT, LA Tech will be the last team in the country (among FBS programs) to kick off a home game.
Auburn (2-0) has a short week this week and will play at Kansas State on Thursday, Sept. 18.
Louisiana Tech and Auburn have met 12 times with the last meeting occurring in 2009, a game in which Auburn won 37-13.
