RUSTON, La. - For Louisiana Tech Softball, the long wait to simply play continues to get pushed back. But if the current weather forecast holds, it will be just one more day. LA Tech's games Tuesday were unable to be played due to field conditions but Tech is scheduled to host Lyon College in a doubleheader Wednesday.
Louisiana Tech (13-5) was originally scheduled to play Cleveland State at 1 p.m. on Tuesday and then face Lyon College at 6 p.m. The Cleveland State game was originally pushed back two hours as officials tried to make the field playable after several days of rain dumped water on it. That game was then cancelled with the Lyon College game postponed.
Now the Lady Techsters will host Lyon College (5-6) in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Lady Techster Softball Complex. LA Tech's last game came in a 7-0 win over Southern on March 1 and the team has had five games cancelled or postponed since then.
Admission to the doubleheader on Wednesday is free for fans.
