RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech's track and field program is heading to the Lone Star State for back-to-back meets starting with UT Arlington's Bobby Lane Invitational on Saturday.
The 37th edition of the Bobby Lane Invitational at Maverick Stadium marks the first time UTA will host the meet since 2013 and the first time Louisiana Tech will compete in Arlington since Maverick Stadium hosted the Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 2013, LA Tech's final year in the WAC.
Tech will compete against teams and individuals from Angelo State, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Cameron, Central Arkansas, Dallas Baptist, Midwestern State, North Texas, Northwestern State, Oklahoma, Sioux Falls, SMU, Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Tarleton State, Texas Wesleyan, Wylie and host UT Arlington.
Saturday's meet marks just the second outdoor meet of the season for Louisiana Tech after Tech hosted the Jim Mize Invitational last weekend in Ruston.
Following the Bobby Lane Invitational, LA Tech will compete at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays hosted by the University of Texas.
Admission to the meet at Maverick Stadium is $7 with children five and under receiving free admission. Saturday's action begins with field events at 9 a.m., while running events will start at 11 a.m. The final race is slated to begin at 7:40 p.m.
