RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech Baseball will host a pair of in-state opponents in midweek action in Northwestern State and Grambling, beginning with a matchup against the Demons at 6 p.m. Tuesday at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park in Ruston.
Following Tuesday's game against Northwestern State, the Bulldogs will welcome Grambling State to the Love Shack Wednesday night for a 6 p.m. first pitch.
LA Tech enters the week with an overall record of 20-12 after a series victory over FIU last weekend in Conference USA action, while the Bulldogs are 12-5 in non-conference games this season.
Northwestern State has lost two straight coming into Tuesday night with an 18-17 overall record on the year. The Demons are 9-8 in non-conference games in 2016.
The Grambling State Tigers head into the week on a three-game winning streak after sweeping Manhattan Christian College this past weekend. The Tigers have posted an 18-17 record through 35 games.
At the plate, the Bulldogs continue to be led by twin brothers Jonathan Washam and Jordan Washam who are hitting .393 and .360, respectively, heading into the two midweek home games. Cody Daigle is hitting .315 with a team-high 24 RBI's and is tied for the team lead with Chase Lunceford (.311) as both have five home runs each. As a team, LA Tech has posted a .286 average in 32 games with 60 doubles, 11 triples and 20 home runs.
LA Tech's pitching staff has a team ERA of 3.76 entering the week and is coming off an impressive performance over the weekend after the Bulldog hurlers held one of the top hitting teams in C-USA in FIU to just two runs over the course of 27 innings to win the league series over the Panthers. Opponents are hitting .244 against LA Tech pitching.
Louisiana Tech and Northwestern State will face off on the diamond for the 122nd meeting Tuesday in Ruston. The Bulldogs enter the game with a 90-61 advantage over the Demons in the all-time series, including have won three straight over Northwestern State over the past two seasons. In 2015, LA Tech faced NSU twice, once in Natchitoches and again in Ruston, with the Bulldogs coming out on top in both meetings. LA Tech won by scores of 9-7 on the road and 13-8 later in the year at home.
The Bulldogs have won 23 straight games over Grambling entering Wednesday's contest and defeated the Tigers earlier this season, 10-2, in Ruston. LA Tech leads the all-time series over Grambling, 25-3.

Louisiana Tech will continue its nine-game home stand this weekend when the Bulldogs host C-USA foe Old Dominion in a three-game series beginning at 6 p.m. Friday at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park. Game two of the home series versus the Monarchs is set for 3 p.m. Saturday before the weekend wraps up at 11 a.m. Sunday morning.
