Taylor Earns Second Weekly Honor from LSWA

Sept. 13, 2016

RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech wide receiver Trent Taylor has picked up his second weekly award after being named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Saturday's 53-24 victory over South Carolina State.

On Monday, Taylor was named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week after hauling in 11 catches for a career-high 178 yards and three touchdowns against South Carolina State.

This marks the second week in a row a Bulldog player has nabbed a player of the week honor by both Conference USA and the LSWA with Xavier Woods sweeping both defensive awards following last week's game at Arkansas.

Taylor now has 10 games of 100-plus receiving yards, becoming one of only five Bulldog receivers to do so, while the senior is also one of only six Bulldog receivers to have at least 200 career receptions.

Taylor has led the team in receiving yards in nine of the last 14 games and had a reception in 29 consecutive games dating back to the 2014 season.

The Bulldogs are set to travel to Lubbock, Texas, this Saturday, Sept. 17 to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders at 6 p.m. at Jones AT&T Stadium.
