RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech's Manoah Kiptum and Kacie Kaufman finished in first place overall on both the men and women's sides in the program's annual Mook Triple-Duals at Tech Farm Saturday morning.
The men had five runners finish in the top 15 with Kiptum leading the way for the second consecutive week with a time of 20:52 in the four-mile race. Freshman Austin Ballow was the second LA Tech runner to finish out the meet with a time of 21:22 to finish in sixth place individually.
"I was very pleased that both Kiptum and Kaufman were the individual winners," head coach Gary Stanley said of the team's performance Saturday morning. "Both teams competed well. We were missing our No. 2 runner on the men's team, but they still gave a great effort."
Brandon Lewis-Graham and Abde Rivera finished 12th and 13th with times of 22:22 and 22:27, respectively, while sophomore Drake Heinz finished the meet in 15th place with a time of 22:44. Nathan Bolner closed out the day for LA Tech with an individual time of 24:26 at the home meet.
The LA Tech women's squad had three top-10 finishes on the morning with Kaufman leading the pack with a time of 19:06 in the three-mile race. Elia Nero recorded a third place finish overall with a final time of 19:41 for the sophomore.
