RUSTON ââ'¬" Louisiana Tech women's tennis head coach Amanda Stone announced on Wednesday the 2017 fall schedule which consists of four tournaments.
Stone returns three Lady Techsters ââ'¬" Angela Lorenzo, Sonia Chen and Nadja Manjon ââ'¬" from last year's roster. Also participating this fall will be four newcomers ââ'¬" Paulina Cota, Karla De La Luz Montalvo, Claudia Oravcova and Andrea Perez-Lopez.
"I'm excited to see this team come together this fall season," Stone said. "We are very young and can use this time to grow in our games and with each other. The tournaments we have scheduled will give our team a good indication on where we are and what we need to do to get where we want to be as a team come April."
For the third straight year, LA Tech will open its fall slate 30 minutes from home in Monroe at the ULM Invitational. The event will be held Sept. 22-24 at Raymond Heard Stadium.
Two weeks later, the Lady Techsters will make the first of two trips to the Lone Star State to participate in the Under Armour/HEB Invitational in Waco. The tourney will be hosted by Baylor on Oct. 6-8.
On Oct. 19-22, LA Tech will take part in the annual USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships. This year's regional will be held in Auburn, Alabama.
The fall slate wraps up the following weekend on Oct. 28-29 at the Bearkat Invitational which will be hosted by Sam Houston in Huntsville, Texas.
