RUSTON -- Heavy rains pelted north Louisiana all night and into Tuesday, canceling the third and final round of the 2018 Jim Rivers Intercollegiate hosted by Louisiana Tech at Squire Creek Golf Course.
With the final round canceled, the UAB Blazers took home the team title after firing an impressive two-round total of 20-under-par 556, narrowly defeating the Georgia Bulldogs (558) who were two strokes behind.
UAB's William Walker, III won the individual title with a nine-under-par two-round total of 135, edging Georgia's Trent Phillips (136) by one stroke.
LA Tech finished in seventh place in the rain-shortened event while Bulldog junior Karsten Green
was the top finisher at 11th place.
Tech will open its spring season Feb. 25-26 at the UL-Lafayette Classics.
