LA Tech vs. Crowley's Ridge Preview
LA Tech had its four-game winning streak snapped this past Saturday in Bossier City with a 66-57 loss to No. 19-ranked LSU. The game was tied up at 57-57 with less than three minutes to play, but the Tigers finished on a 9-0 run to take the neutral site contest.
It was arguably the Bulldogs best defensive game of the season, holding the Tigers to a season-low 66 points on just 39 percent shooting. LA Tech had as much as a 13-point lead in the first half, the second largest deficit LSU has faced this season.
Kenneth Lofton, Jr. tallied 13 points and seven rebounds while Amorie Archibald also had 13 points to go along with a season-high six rebounds and five assists. Lofton, Jr. (18.5 ppg) and Archibald (13.0 ppg) continue to pace the team offensively.
Crowley's Ridge has found the win column only once this season, defeating Pensacola Christian by a score of 95-91 over a week ago. Five of their losses have been by single digits, including a 73-70 loss to Lyon this past Monday.
The Pioneers, an NAIA program competing in the Continental Athletic Conference, is averaging 71.6 points per game. They get to the free throw line a lot, averaging 21.8 attempts at the charity stripe per contest.
Forward Braxton Cousins is the anchor of the team, averaging 21.4 points per game while shooting 62.9 percent from the field. He has seven games this season with at least 20 points, including a career-high 44 in their lone victory. He also averages 6.4 rebounds per contest.
This will be the first ever meeting between LA Tech and Crowley's Ridge. The Pioneers are the third opponent of the Bulldogs this season with no previous meetings (Jarvis Christian and Santa Clara).
