Davison Athletics Complex

When the initial plans for the Davison Athletics Complex were unveiled back in 2010, it was referred to as a game-changer for Louisiana Tech University and its athletic department.

And when it opened in September of 2015 for the Bulldogs home opener against Southern, more than 27,000 fans saw first-hand the impact of the 70,000-plus square foot, $22-million dollar south end zone facility.

The Davison Athletics Complex located in the south end-zone of Joe Aillet Stadium was named in honor of the Davison Family. The Davison family of Ruston have been dedicated alumni and supporters for Louisiana Tech for many years. Naming the facility after their family was a way for Louisiana Tech to recognize them for their unwavering support not only for athletics but for the University as a whole.

Louisiana Tech University was able to build this 70,000 plus square foot facility mainly through private donations to the Quest for Excellence Campaign and a fee passed by the Louisiana Tech University student body.

The Davison Athletics Complex has three different levels. The 1st level is the entrance to the football field for our football players on game-day and houses the Athletics Department’s weight room and the football player’s locker room. The 2nd level is the main entrance to facility, with the main lobby being located on the west side of the building just behind the Charles Wyly Athletic Center. Also located on the 2nd level, are the football coach’s offices, position meeting rooms and a team meeting room for football. The 3rd level is entirely dedicated to the state-of-the-art Club Lounge which is perfect for special events.

The Club Lounge can be used by student organizations for banquets, meetings, and other on-campus special events. The public can also reserve this space which provides the perfect venue for wedding receptions, formal banquets, Christmas parties, corporate meetings, or a small dinner party.

The three-story facility was done the right way, with full attention given to every detail from the utilization of the space to the installation of amenities to the creation of the wall graphics to the selection of weight equipment and furniture.

The facility is the cornerstone of the Quest for Excellence capital campaign started back in 2010, a campaign that has raised tens of millions in private donations. Some of this money has been spent on additional facility upgrades, renovations and additions throughout the Louisiana Tech Athletics Department.
