Three Former Lady Techsters Selected in WNBA Dispersal Draft
RUSTON - Three former Louisiana Tech players were among the 14 selected in the 2003 WNBA Dispersal Draft held Thursday via conference calls from the league office in New York.
The supplement draft was held in order to disseminate the players formerly on the rosters of the Miami Sol and Portland Fire, the two teams that folded following the 2002 season.
Betty Lennox was selected No. 3 in the dispersal draft by the Cleveland Rockers, while Tamicha Jackson was taken No. 4 by the Phoenix Mercury and Alisa Burras No. 9 by the Seattle Storm. Lennox was formerly with the Miami Sol while both Jackson and Burras were members of the Portland Fire.
Detroit selected former Notre Dame star Ruth Riley first in the dispersal draft while Minnesota took Sheri Sam.
