Techsters Jump in RPI With Win
RUSTON - Louisiana Tech jumped 18 spots in the collegerpi.com ratings index following the Lady Techsters 63-47 win over Tulsa Thursday night.
Prior to the contest, Tech was No. 47 in the listing but moved to No. 29 following the victory over a Tulsa team that previously had only one loss on the season.
The Techsters strength of schedule, one component which is instrumental in the index's formula, is now rated as the fourth toughest in the country, trailing only Tennessee, Penn State and Indiana.
The Western Athletic Conference continues to be rated as the seventh best Division I women's basketball league in the country, ahead of the Mountain West, Conference USA and the Atlantic 10.
Six of the 10 teams in the WAC are rated in the Top 65 in the country according to the latest RPI.
