Techsters Jump in Coaches Poll
RUSTON - Well, some coach in the country believes that Louisiana Tech is better than its No. 6 ranking it received in this week's USA Today/ESPN/WBCA Coaches Poll released Tuesday.
The Lady Techsters (17-2) not only jumped two spots in the poll but also received one first place vote while garnering a total of 759 points. Tech, winners of nine straight games, accomplished the same feat as yesterday when the Lady Techsters also moved from No. 8 to No. 6 in the AP Poll.
Again Tech leapfrogged Penn State and Stanford while staying barely ahead of No. 7 Texas Tech, which sits only three points behind the Lady Techsters.
Connecticut, which received 28 first place votes and 982 total points, is No. 1 this week followed by Texas, which received 11 first place votes and 958 points. Tennessee, Duke and Purdue round out the top five followed by Tech, which received the final first place vote.
