RUSTON -- Sixth-ranked Louisiana Tech (18-2, 11-1 WAC) will host Western Athletic Conference foe San Jose State (13-7, 5-6) Saturday night at the Thomas Assembly Center at 6:30 p.m.

The game, which has been moved up 30 minutes from its originally scheduled tip-off time of 7 p.m. to accommodate being televised on CSTV
(DirecTV channel 610), will have significant meaning for three Lady Techster players who will be honored during Senior Night.

Tech guard Amber Obaze and forwards Trina Frierson and Amisha Carter
will be recognized during a halftime ceremony that will highlight their
accomplishments during their careers as Lady Techsters.

"Obviously, it?s a very special night any time you recognize your
seniors," said Tech head coach Kurt Budke. "These three young ladies
have meant so much to this program during their careers, and hopefully,
we will have a good crowd here to show them their appreciation for their
hard work and dedication."

All three seniors rank in the top six in scoring in the current WAC
statistical rankings with Carter ranking No. 1 at 16.6, Frierson No. 2
at 16.3 and Obaze No. 6 at 12.9. The trio also ranks in the top eight in
the conference in field goal percentage.

San Jose State enters the contest with a 13-7 record, including a 5-6
mark in conference play, but the Spartans are coming off an 88-61 loss
at SMU Thursday night in Dallas. In the contest, San Jose State fell
victim to SMU's incredible outside shooting, as the Mustangs hit 14 of
27 three-pointers in the game.

Senior guard and Louisiana-native Cricket Williams leads San Jose State offensively, averaging 14.3 points and 7.7 assists per contest although she has struggled shooting the basketball, hitting only 32 percent of her field goals, 28 percent of her three-pointers and 60 percent of her free throws.

In the first meeting between the two teams, an 84-71 win by the Techsters on Jan. 15 in San Jose, Williams showed her explosiveness, scoring 20 of her 21 points in the second half.

"Cricket is definitely one of the more dangerous offensive players in
this conference," Budke said. "She can do so many different things, not
just score. Our guards will have to do a good job of containing her and
not letting her get easy baskets."

Tech leads the all-time series against San Jose State 5-0. The Lady
Techsters currently sit atop the WAC standings with a slim one-half game lead over second-place Rice.

The game can be heard on KXKZ-FM 107.5 and via the Internet at
www.latechsports.com with the pregame show starting at 6 p.m. Tech fans worldwide can also watch the game via BulldogVision by logging onto www.latechsports.com.
