Tech's Carter Named WAC Player of the Week
RUSTON - Louisiana Tech forward Amisha Carter was named this week's Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week following her performances in the Lady Techsters two home wins over Boise State and UTEP.
Carter averaged 21.5 points and 14.0 rebounds in Tech's two victories while shooting 56 percent from the field and 72 percent from the free throw line. The Oakland, Calif., native started the week by scoring a game-high 23 points in Tech's 95-58 win over Boise State Thursday night.
The senior then scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed a career-high 21 rebounds to lead Tech to a 75-58 win over UTEP Saturday. The 21 rebounds were the most by a WAC player this season and the double double was Carter's ninth of the year, also the most in the league.
