Lady Techsters Look for 9th Straight Win Against Nevada
RENO, Nev. - Eighth-ranked Louisiana Tech will look for its 9th straight victory on Saturday when the Lady Techsters square off with Nevada at 4 p.m.
The Lady Techsters are coming off an 85-52 win over Fresno State on Thursday night while the Wolf Pack dropped a 71-68 game to SMU in Western Athletic Conference women?s basketball action.
The game will be broadcast live on KXKZ-FM (107.5).
Tech (16-2, 9-1 WAC) defeated Nevada (3-17, 2-8 WAC), 110-47, in Ruston on January 8th. The victory was the Lady Techsters first in their string of nine straight wins.
The Lady Techsters forced 37 turnovers as six players scored in double figures in the first meeting of the season with Nevada.
Tech has four players averaging in double figures led by Trina Frierson (16.8 ppg) and Amisha Carter (16.3 ppg).
Nevada?s two league victories came over Hawaii and Fresno State, both at home.
The Wolf Pack is led by Apryl Bankston (11.6 ppg) and Jocelyn Mancebo (11.0 ppg).
Frierson and Carter paced Tech?s win over Fresno State on Thursday night as the Lady Techsters returned to the road for the first time since a victory over Hawaii on January 17th.
Frierson scored 22 points while Carter poured in 21 points to go with six blocks, three steals and six rebounds in the Lady Techsters victory.
Tech was also solid on the defensive end, holding Fresno State to a 24-percent shooting percentage.
