RUSTON - Louisiana Tech seniors Trina Frierson and Amisha Carter were both named to the 2004 NCAA Division I Kodak/WBCA All-American Region 7 Team, released Wednesday by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and Eastman Kodak Company.

Region 7 consists of schools from the Mountain West, Big Sky and Western Athletic Conferences and Carter and Frierson joined UNLV's RanDee Henry and Sherry McCracklin, Eastern Washington's Kathleen Nygaard and Utah's Kim Smith.

Carter, named the 2004 WAC Player of the Year earlier this week, averaged 17.5 points and 10.2 rebounds per game while shooting 54 percent from the field and recording 14 double doubles on the year.

Frierson, named first team All-WAC, averaged 16.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game this season while hitting 53 percent of her field goals and 73 percent of her free throws. Frierson is also a finalist for the Naismith National Player of the Year Award.

WBCA head coach members from each of the eight WBCA geographical regions determine finalists and all finalists are considered for the Kodak/WBCA All-American Team honors.
