RUSTON - Seven former Louisiana Tech women's basketball letter winners made an opening day roster for one of the 13 WNBA franchises as the 2004 season opened Thursday night.

Forward Trina Frierson is the Lady Techsters newest edition to the professional basketball league although the two-time first team All-Western Athletic Conference selection opens the year on the Seattle Storms injured reserve list while still recovering from knee surgery.

Joining Frierson in the league are Cheryl Ford (Detroit Shock), Ayana Walker (Detroit Shock - injured reserve), Teresa Weatherspoon (Los Angeles Sparks), Vickie Johnson (New York Liberty), Betty Lennox (Seattle Storm) and Tamicha Jackson (Washington Mystics).
