BOISE, Idaho ? Benita Buggs hit a three-pointer with 1.3 seconds remaining to give Boise State a 62-59 upset victory over Louisiana Tech before 520 fans at Taco Bell Arena Thursday night.

With the score tied at 59-59, Tech had possession of the ball but Lakiste Barkus? three-pointer missed and Boise State pulled down the defensive rebound with just under 10 seconds remaining.

Boise State point guard Tasha Harris pushed the basketball up the court and found Buggs who hit the three-pointer over the outstretched hands of Crain. It was only Buggs fifth three-pointer made of the season.

Louisiana Tech got one last chance to tie the game but Crain?s open 30-footer hit off the front of the rim as time expired, ending the Lady Techsters 23-game Western Athletic Conference regular season winning streak.

?I think we got what we deserved tonight,? said Tech head coach Kurt Budke. ?Give Boise State credit; they played us tough. However, when you shoot the ball as poorly as we did and you don?t come out and play with intensity for 40 minutes, then you deserve to lose. We got what we deserved.?

Tech?s downfall began with the Techsters leading 49-37 at the 10:27 mark of the second half. Boise State guard Cassidy Blaine, the fourth leading three-point shooter in the WAC, hit back to back three pointers and Harris followed with a steal, a bucket and a free throw and less than 60 seconds later, Tech?s lead was at 49-46.

Boise State took its first lead of the game at 58-57 at the 2:05 mark of the second half on a jump shot by Buggs in the lane. After freshman Amanda Stewart increased the lead ot 59-57, Barkus hit a jumper in the lane to tie the game at 59-59 with 1:07 to play.

Crain led Tech with 18 points, while Kursh added 11 points and 16 rebounds and DeCiman chipped in with 11 points, seven blocks and six boards.
