Whitney Jones joins the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters after transferring from Baylor last December. Jones was a two-time state Gatorade Player of the Year during her prep career at West Monroe High School while leading the Rebels to the Louisiana Class 5A state title as a sophomore.
Q: What is one thing about yourself that most people don?t know.
A: I have a pillow for my security blanket and will cry if I can?t find it.
Q: Why did you decide to sign with Louisiana Tech?
A: I wanted to become a Lady Techster because home is where the heart is.
Q: In your opinion, what does it mean to be a Lady Techster?
A: A winner
Q: What has been the hardest transition to college so far?
A: Sitting out last season and being away from home.
Q: As a player, what is your no. 1 goal for yourself this year?
A: To work hard, play hard and win.
Q: If you could have dinner with any three people in history, who would they be and why?
A: Michael Jordan, Lebron James and Karl Malone
Q: In pickup games this summer, which one of your teammates do you think is the toughest to guard?
A: All of them because they are so quick.
Q: What was your most memorable moment playing high school basketball?
A: Winning the Class 5A state title as a sophomore.
Q: How would you describe yourself?
A: Caring, kind-hearted, quiet and shy.
Q: What is your best subject in school?
A: psychology
Q: What jersey number will you wear this year and why?
A: 32 because 23 is taken and 32 is 23 backwards.
Q: What is the strongest aspect of your game?
A: The ability to penetrate to the basket and shoot off the dribble.
Q: What would your dream job be and why?
A: Playing or coaching professional basketball because I love the game!
Q: If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want to take with you?
A: food, water and a cellular phone
