Tech Sweeps Double-Dual at Warhawk Invitational

MONROE, La. -- The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs finished 4-0 at the UL-Monroe Warhawk Invitational at Chenault Park Golf Club Saturday morning in an eight-kilometer cross country race.
Tech junior Jace Benoit took the first place finished overall with a time of 27 minutes, 6 seconds, while junior Cory Denstel finished third at 27:26.
?It could not have happened to a more deserving person,? Tech head coach Gary Stanley said of Benoit?s first place finish. ?I?m very proud of what he?s accomplished for our program.?
Freshmen Kyle Davis, Steven Cortez and Stephen Mire rounded out Tech?s finishes with seventh, eleventh and twenty-seventh places, respectively. Tech dualed Centenary, ULM, Northwestern State and Grambling for the 4-0 win.
On the women?s side, freshman Lauren Gilbert finished highest for the Lady Techsters with a time of 21:55 and thirteenth place.
