RUSTON -- Louisiana Tech's cross country squad has now been ranked by the USTFCCCA as the No. 7 school in the South Central Region ranking the team higher than instate rival LSU among other schools.
"The ranking is an honor, and it's due to the team's extremely hard work that they put in over the summer," Tech head coach Gary Stanley said. "I applaud them for their dedication."
Tech is ranked higher than LSU, Rice and Baylor to name a few.
Tech's cross country squad has certainly been making noise this year led by senior Kinsey Dinnel.
Most recently, Tech's cross country team exacted some revenge on LSU at the Auburn Invitational by finishing eighth to the Tigers' 11th. The week before, LSU edged Tech by a mere two points at the Tigers' home invitational meet.
Dinnel was awarded his second WAC Athlete of the Week honor of the season after running the second-fastest time in Bulldog history in the five-mile race at Auburn.
The Bulldogs will take the weekend off before heading to the 2008 Chile Pepper Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
