RUSTON - ESPN, the world wide leader in sports, confirmed Tuesday that Louisiana Tech's Aug. 30 opener against Mississippi State at Joe Aillet Stadium would start at 5:45 p.m. and be televised live on ESPN2.
The contest is the season opener for both teams as the Starkville-based Bulldogs enter Ruston coming off an impressive season which including the Liberty Bowl championship. It'll also mark the first time that a Southeastern Conference school has ever played in Ruston.
Tech boasts a program record six home games in 2008, including non-conference tilts against MSU and Southeastern Louisiana, and Western Athletic Conference match-ups against Fresno State, Nevada, Idaho and Utah State.
Season tickets are currently on sale in the Tech Ticket Office by calling 318-257-3631 or logging onto www.latechsports.com.
Tickets start as low as $90 for young alumni (2004-2008) while the popular Family Pack will be offered again for $325 (2 adult, 3 children's tickets).
An added incentive for Bulldog fans to purchase season tickets this year is that the tickets will include coupons to the Louisiana Tech Bookstore where fans can purchase all the officially licensed gear.
The bookstore will be offering up to $50 in discounts to Bulldog fans with each season ticket purchased.
Included in the package is a $5 coupon off the official 2008 Nike Louisiana Tech football T-shirt, $15 off any sweatshirt over $40 and $15 off any Nike item over $60. The bookstore will also offer a discount to season ticket holders in the event the Bulldogs go to a bowl game this upcoming season.
