BOISE, Idaho -- Janie Bos scored 13 points and Marisa Stotler added 12 points and eight rebounds to lead Boise State to a 52-42 win over Louisiana Tech Sunday afternoon at Taco Bell Arena.

The Lady Techsters (10-10, 3-3 WAC) couldn't overcome a horrid shooting performance that saw Tech hit only 24 percent (17-70) of its field goals, and a mere 2-of-21 from the three-point line.

"Bottom line is we have to make shots and today we didn't," said Tech head coach Chris Long. "When your guards shoot (a combined 5-of-45) from the field, you aren't going to win many games."

Although neither team came out strong offensively, they found themselves tied at 15-15 after an Adrienne Johnson layup at the 10:28 mark of the first half. However, that's when things went ice cold for the Lady Techsters as Tech went the next eight minutes without a point missing 12 straight shots.

Johnson finally brought the drought with a jumper at the 2:34 mark. Despite the awful stretch, Boise State couldn't pull away as the Broncos scored only five minutes during that time.

Tech held the Broncos scoreless over the final four minutes of the first half as the Lady Techsters trailed 20-19 at the break.

"I thought in the first half we rushed some shots," Long said. "We shot only 20 percent from the field in the first half and only trailed by one. I told the team I didn't think we could shoot that poorly again. Although the stat sheet says we shot a little better in the second half, it wasn't good enough."

Johnson scored 12 of her game-high 14 points in the opening 20 minutes to keep LA Tech within striking distance. Tech connected on only 7-of-35 field goals in the first half, only 1-of-12 from the three-point line.

Neither team came out of the second half any better as it took almost three minutes before Tech guard Whitney Jones finally made the first field goal of the second half, her only field goal of the entire game. Jones, who entered the game averaging 14 points, finished with three points on 1-of-12 shooting.

Johnson followed Jones' shot up with a jumper at the 16:52 mark to give Tech its lone lead of the second half at 23-22. A Bos jumper on Boise State's next possession began a 16-3 run giving the Broncos their biggest lead of the game at 38-26.

During that run, Tech senior forward Keshia Warren went down with what could be a potentially season-ending injury.

The Lady Techsters mounted one final comeback attempt as Shanavia Dowdell -- who was held to only 2 points in the first half -- and Tiawana Pringle combined to score 11 points in a 13-4 run that pulled Tech within 42-39 with three minutes to play.

Freshman Kiara Young took a potential game-tying three-pointer on the Techsters next possession but misfired and Boise State ended the game on a 10-3 run.

Tech outrebounded the Broncos 49-47, including pulling down 22 offensive rebounds, but it wasn't enough to overcome the shooting woes.

The Lady Techsters return to action Friday when they host New Mexico State at 7 p.m.
