Louisiana Tech forwards Shanavia Dowdell and Adrienne Johnson have been recognized by Full Court Press as two of the top "mid-major" players in the country as the duo are two of the three Western Athletic Conference players featured in the article.

Dowdell was recently selected as the preseason player of the year by the media and coaches in the league while Johnson was named preseason first team all-WAC. The duo led Tech to a 21-13 mark last year, along with a share of the Western Athletic Conference regular season title.
