BATON ROUGE, La. - Game Captains: #20 Daniel Porter, #43 Dustin Mitchell and #90 Mason Hitt

Daniel Porter rushed for 64 yards in the game, giving him a career mark of 3,016 yards. Porter becomes only the third player in Louisiana Tech history to rush for over 3,000 career yards.

Louisiana Tech rushed for 178 yards, which is second only to No. 1 Florida's 193 rushing yards that LSU has allowed in a game all season.

Louisiana Tech held No. 9 LSU to under 150 rushing yards, something only Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Washington have done this season.

Tech's defense gave up only 246 yards of offense to LSU marking the second lowest offensive output the ninth-ranked Tigers have been held to this year. The lowest was 162 yards of offense vs. No. 1 Florida.

Daniel Porter threw a touchdown pass to Dennis Morris at the end of the first half to give Tech a 13-10 lead going into halftime.

On Tech's touchdown at the end of the first half, Dennis Morris caught his 12th career touchdown pass. Morris is three touchdown receptions away from reaching Tech's career touchdown reception chart. Eight of Morris' 12 career touchdowns have come this season.

Matt Nelson became the first Tech kicker to successfully make three field goals in a game since Brad Oestreicher did so in a 22-14 win over Mississippi State on Aug. 30, 2008.

The 13-10 Tech lead at halftime is believed to be the first time Louisiana Tech has led LSU since 1904. LA Tech held the three-point advantage until the 6:59 mark in the third quarter.

The 16 points Louisiana Tech has scored is the most a Tech team has ever scored on LSU.

Louisiana Tech's 16 points marks the most amount of points LSU has allowed at home this season and the most points an LSU opponent has scored on the LSU in Tiger Stadium since Ole Miss scored 31 points on Nov. 22, 2008.

Eric Harper made his first career catch in the game.

At the end of the first quarter, Louisiana Tech had racked up 98 yards on the ground. LSU's defense has only allowed 121.2 rushing yards per game from opponents this season.

Matt Nelson's 30-yard field goal marked his first successful field goal attempt since Oct. 17 when he successfully converted a 26-yard field goal attempt. Nelson has only attempted one field goal since that time, missing wide left on a 56-yard field goal at Idaho.

Cornelius Nickelson, a walk-on wide receiver, made his first career start.
