HAMMOND -- Louisiana Tech will travel to Hammond Wednesday for a softball doubleheader against Southeastern Louisiana starting at 4 p.m.
Tech (8-8) is coming off an appearance in the QTI Invitational this past weekend in which the Lady Techsters were 2-3 with wins over Rutgers and UL-Monroe and a one-run loss to 24th ranked Baylor.
The Lady Techsters continue to be led by a strong pitching staff as senior Krissi Oliver (2-6, 2.79 ERA) and sophomore Meghan Krieg (5-1, 0.85 ERA) are scheduled to make starts against the Lions.
Offensively, Tech has struggled as a team with consistency through the first 16 games although junior shortstop Amberly Waits continues to be the most productive hitter sporting a .447 batting average. Waits has recorded 17 hits in 39 at bats this season including four doubles, one triple and one home run and a team-best 14 RBI.
Southeastern Louisiana (7-7) is coming off a 2-2 record at the Troy Trojan Classic where the Lions defeated Appalachian State twice while falling to host Troy twice.
Tech leads the all-time series against Southeastern Louisiana 43-12 with the two teams splitting a doubleheader last year in Ruston.
