RUSTON-- Louisiana Tech senior Kinsey Dinnel has been elected Second Team Academic All-American for the 2009 men's track and field season.

Dinnel was chosen for his efforts both on and off the track for 2009 as the Loranger, La. native recorded a career best time of 9:05.75 in the steeple chase which qualified him to compete in a tough Mideast regional in Louisville, Ky. where he finished 23rd.

He maintained a 3.9 GPA as an undergrad while majoring in Biology and now holds a 3.8 GPA in graduate school at Louisiana Tech.
