Game Captains for Louisiana Tech: #36 Brian White and #52 Thomas Graham

Louisiana Tech's win over Hawai'i marked just the program's second win over the Warriors.

The win gave Derek Dooley his first win over Hawai'i as a head coach.

Louisiana Tech became the first team since Boise State in 2004 to prevent Hawai'i from reaching the end zone. Tech's stalwart defense snapped Hawai'i's 62-game streak of scoring a touchdown.

Louisiana Tech's defense held Hawai'I's seventh-ranked offense to 301 total yards on the night, over 200 yards below its average of 515.3 the Warriors were averaging per game entering tonight's contest.

Lyle Fitte opened the game with a career-best 53-yard kick return.

Louisiana Tech, who is ranked No. 2 in the nation in fewest penalties per game, was flagged twice for 20 yards on its first drive of the game.

Daniel Porter's 25 rushes on the night gave the senior 468 career rushes, placing him ninth in school history.

Daniel Porter ran for 160 yards Wednesday night, giving him 2,514 career rushing yards. His 2,514 mark ranks him eighth in school history in career rushing yardage.

Daniel Porter registered his ninth career 100-yard rushing performance Wednesday night against Hawai'i, which ties him for fifth in school history for 100-yard rushing performances.

The Kwame Jordan interception that set up Louisiana Tech's touchdown early in the third quarter was his first career interception.

Phillip Livas caught a ball in the second quarter marking the 27th consecutive game Livas has played in where he has caught a pass. That streak is tied for the 11th longest streak in the nation.

Louisiana Tech's seven sacks recorded against Hawai'i Wednesday night marked the most sacks by a Tech team since the Bulldogs recorded nine sacks in a 38-21 win over Nevada on Sept. 6, 2004.

The win marks the first time LA Tech has won its conference opener since 2005.

Louisiana Tech has now won eight of its last nine games in Joe Aillet Stadium.

LA Tech scored a touchdown in its second possession - a three yard run by Daniel Porter - marking the seventh time in the last 10 games the Bulldogs have scored on their second possession of the game.

Mike Compton's six-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter was only his second career touchdown. His first career touchdown came at Hawai'i last season.

Deon Young's interception in the second quarter was his second INT of the year and marked an interception in the second consecutive game for the senior.

Matt Nelson's 58 yard field goal attempt at the end of the first half was the first missed field goal attempt of his career. The freshman kicker is perfect on attempts under 55-yards.
