DENVER - Louisiana Tech safety Javontay Crowe was named the Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week following Tech's 41-20 win at New Mexico State.
Crowe, a sophomore from Ruston, La. (Ruston HS), had a team-high nine tackles, including six solo, in the win at New Mexico State. He was also credited with two pass break ups and had his first career interception which he returned for seven yards late in third quarter with Louisiana Tech holding a seven point lead.
Louisiana Tech's win at New Mexico State marked the team's first road win in 11 tries, a stretch that spanned two years.
Tech next plays at San Jose State on Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. CT.
