RUSTON - Louisiana Tech will take a break from Western Athletic Conference play Wednesday when the Lady Techsters travel to Shreveport to face Centenary in a single game that begins at 6 p.m. at the Centenary Softball Complex.
Tech (14-10, 2-1 WAC) took two of three against Utah State this weekend in the WAC opening series and will travel to California this coming weekend for a three-game series against San Jose State.
The Lady Techsters lead the all-time series against Centenary 44-13 including a 9-1 victory over the Ladies March 3 in Ruston. Centenary (8-18, 2-7 Summitt) has dropped eight straight games since a 5-4 win over Oakland almost three weeks ago.

Despite a team batting average of .234, Tech is averaging more than 5.0 runs per game thanks in large part to 23 home runs. Amberly Waits, who became the program's all-time hits leader Saturday, leads Tech with a .432 batting average along with five home runs, 25 runs and 17 RBI.
Meghan Knowles (.395, 2 HR, 14 RBI), Kylie Bassett (.222, 6 HR, 15 RBI, 22 runs) and Jessica Kirby (.214, 3 HR, 25 RBI) are Tech's most productive run producers through the first 24 games of the year. Knowles drove in four runs in Tech's win over Centenary earlier this season.
In the circle, Tech has ridden the arm of junior Meghan Krieg (10-9, 2.34 ERA) who has allowed only 89 hits in 122.2 innings of action while striking out 156 batters. Krieg is on pace to break a 24-year-old single season strikeout record set by Stacey Johnson in 1986.
