WAC Tournament Bracket

RENO - Despite Saturday's 74-65 loss at Boise State, Louisiana Tech (20-8, 11-5 WAC) will enter the 2010 Western Athletic Conference Tournament as the No. 2 seed and will open play Wednesday night at 10:30 p.m. CT against No. 7 seed Utah State.

Utah State (13-16, 5-11) earned the seventh seed with a 53-51 win over Hawaii Saturday afternoon, sending the Rainbow Wahine (10-19, 4-12) to the No. 8 seed and a matchup against regular season champion Fresno State (25-5, 16-0).

Tech and Utah State split the season series with the Aggies winning 69-66 in Ruston on Jan. 6 and the Lady Techsters winning 74-54 in Logan on Feb. 6. Tech leads the all-time series against Utah State 9-1 and the meeting will be the first between the two programs in the postseason.

Other first round matchups in the WAC Tournament include No. 3 seed Nevada (16-14, 10-6) against No. 6 seed Boise State (19-11, 8-8) and No. 4 seed Idaho (10-19, 8-8) against No. 5 seed New Mexico State (18-12, 8-8).

The winner of the LA Tech-Utah State game will play the winner of the Nevada-Boise State game on Friday at 4:30 p.m. CT. The championship game is set for Saturday at 3 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
