· Tarik Hakmi (22-of-35) established a career-high 262 passing yards - the highest total of any Tech signal caller this season.

· Matt Hitt recorded his second sack of the season.

· Josh Victorian picked up his fifth-career interception

· Carey Fortson's 38-yard reception in the first quarter was the first reception of his career.

· Richie Casey's 19-yard touchdown reception was the first of his career.

· Jay Dudley had a career-high 13 tackles along with a career-high nine solo stops.

Team

· Tech falls to 14-29 all-time against Southern Miss and 7-14 in games played in Ruston.

· Tonight's loss marks the first time that Tech has dropped back-to-back home games since falling to Nevada (Nov. 18) and Fresno State (Nov. 24) in 2006.

· Tonight's safety in the fourth quarter marks the first time that Tech has scored a safety since Nov. 11, 2000 against UL-Monroe.
