Louisiana Tech is now 1-2 this season when the opponent scores first. Ole Miss drew first blood with a Brandon Bolden touchdown pass from Randall Mackey to score first in the game.

Matt Nelson's two field goals give him 38 for his career, ranking seventh in school history.

Matt Nelson's one point after touchdown gives him 112 for his career, ranking fifth in school history.

With the win, Louisiana Tech has now won two games against SEC opponents in the last four years (2008 vs. Mississippi State, 2011 at Ole Miss).

Chad Boyd returned a fumble 33 yards for a touchdown late in the third quarter marking the first time Louisiana Tech has returned a fumble for a touchdown since Carlin Thomas returned a fumble 32 yards for a score at Oklahoma State on Sept. 8, 2001.

Rickey Courtney made his first appearance in a game for Louisiana Tech. He finished the game with two carries for three yards.

Matt Broha was credited with a sack early in the third quarter. He now has 20.5 career sacks, ranking second all-time at Louisiana Tech.

Tech held Ole Miss below its season team rushing average. This marks the 10th straight game this season that Tech has held its opponent under its rushing average.

Hunter Lee rushed for 127 yards on 24 carries, marking his second 100-yard rushing performance of the season.

Tech becomes bowl eligible with the victory. Tech has two games left (at Nevada Nov. 19 and vs. New Mexico State Nov. 26).
