Louisiana Tech Head Coach Teresa Weatherspoon
Opening Statement:
"It's been a tremendous pleasure for me as a coach to coach these wonderful young ladies that you see at this table, who are not very happy right now because of the outcome of the situation, and the rest of those young ladies who are in the locker room. It was a pleasure to coach such a wonderful team to go out and do exactly what I asked on a daily basis. I am a very proud coach of everything that we have accomplished all season long. Tonight was a game that was very tough for us, that they got off to a great start from the very beginning. They kind of pounded it on us in the painted area. It kind of got away from us early, but our kids never stopped fighting, and scratching and clawing to the very end. They did exactly what they said they would do, brought a lot of bodies after Adrienne Johnson and we knew that if we could knock down some shots and we would remain in the game, and unfortunately tonight the ball did not go in for us, but the one thing our kids never ever did is they never stopped fighting because there is a lot of pride in the Lady Techster program."
"Guys while we are talking, let's make sure that we definitely thank Ms. Mary Ann Tice and Shreveport Regional Sport Authority for such a wonderful program that was put on here, we were more than pleased to be a part of it. Hospitality was just absolutely unbelievable to be here, the stay at Bossier Hotel and Suites. We had incredible people there to make us feel so welcome, and to not come out with a win you know it is unfortunate, but the experience has been just wonderful."
F Adrienne Johnson
On all the defenders Rugter threw at her:
"I just have to feel that there were a lot of defenders at me, but we just needed to hit outside shots to open that up, but tonight was not our best shooting night."
F Adrienne Johnson
On the size of the Rugters players and did you see anything close to their size in regular season play game:
"Yeah I think so, but that's only basketball you have play through that, that's why I have my teammates to kick it to and hit outside shots."
G Brietta Thomas
On the speed of Rugters zone defense and getting out on the passes to the wings:
"I guess when teams do come out at you fast you are supposed to drive around them and pull up or I guess, Adrienne would repost and we kick it back in. But like they said we just were not knocking down shots from outside, so, or when we drove in,"
