Tech Softball Hosts Fall Doubleheader Saturday

RUSTON - Newly-named head coach Mark Montgomery and the Louisiana Tech softball team will host its first games of the fall season this Saturday when the Lady Techsters face Northeast Texas Community College in a doubleheader starting at noon.

Admission to the doubleheader is free.

Tech returns 12 letter winners from last year's team while welcoming five high school newcomers to the roster. The Lady Techsters finished last season 25-33 while qualifying for the Western Athletic Conference Tournament for the eighth straight season.

The Lady Techsters roster features six seniors this year, including Melanie Goff, Janna Frandrup, Dacia Hale, Michelle Jones, Meghan Knowles and Amanda Krueger.

Montgomery enters his first season at Tech after winning more than 300 games during his time at Centenary and Northern Colorado.

In addition to this weekend's doubleheader, Tech will also host Bossier Parish Community College in a doubleheader on Oct. 20 at noon.
