LA Tech vs. Army Game Notes - Heart of Dallas Classic Sept. 28, 2013 Cotton Bowl

• With the 35-16 loss, Louisiana Tech is now 0-4 in games against service academies. The 35 points allowed is the second most a service academy has scored against LA Tech in a single game (37 points is the most scored by Navy in 2010).

• Army now leads the all-time series 2-0 with the first win being a 2008 game in which the Black Knights won 14-7 in yet another rain-soaked game between the two teams.

• Today's captains versus Army: D.J. Banks, IK Enemkpali, Matthew Shepperd and Bryson Abraham.

• Louisiana Tech is now 14-10 all-time versus Independent schools (Army, BYU, Idaho, Navy, New Mexico State and Notre Dame).

• Army won the coin toss and deferred to the second half. LA Tech received the ball on offense to begin the game vs. the Black Knights.

• Skip Holtz is 2-1 at the Cotton Bowl after tonight's loss to Army. He helped guide the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame to two Cotton Bowl berths in 1993 and 1994 as an assistant coach.

• The announced attendance was 31,278.

• Tonight's game marked LA Tech's 17th football game played in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

• Andrew Guillot showed out in his Cotton Bowl debut as the receiver led the Bulldogs with five catches for 123 yards and a touchdown reception. That marks the first time a LA Tech receiver has surpassed 100 yards receiving since Myles White and Quinton Patton each achieved the feat vs. San Jose State in the final game of 2012. The touchdown was the second of Guillot's career and 123 receiving yards is a new career-high for the six-year senior.

• For the first time since facing San Jose State in 2006, an opposing team rushed for 400+ yards as Army's backfield ran for 414 yards on the day. That is third most rushing yards given up by a Tech defense in program history.

• Army's Terry Baggett had a game-high 143 rushing yards, marking the first time an opposing rusher has surpassed 100 yards individually versus LA Tech since San Jose State's De'Leon Eskridge did it in 2012. Baggett scored two touchdowns on the night.

• Kenneth Dixon punched through for his 29th career rushing touchdown (seven-yard rush) for LA Tech in the third quarter vs. Army. Dixon's 29 rushing TD's is now tied for third all-time in school history with Patrick Jackson (2005-08).

• With a familiarity with the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Daniel Cobb made his homecoming worthwhile with a team-leading nine total tackles (four solo) vs. the Black Knights.

• Redshirt freshman Lloyd Grogan recorded his first career sack late in the fourth quarter for an 8-yard loss on Army QB Angel Santiago. It was the lone sack of the day for the Bulldogs.

• Kyle Fischer connected on a 31-yard field goal as time expired to signal the end of the first half. The freshman is now 7-for-11 on the season and 3-of-5 from 30-39 yards.
