RUSTON, La. - The next three days will one of the most nerve-wracking for former collegiate football players as the NFL Draft begins Thursday. Louisiana Tech's Justin Ellis and IK Enemkpali are among two of hundreds of players hoping to have their name called soon.

Ellis and Enemkpali are the two Bulldogs that stand the greatest chance at getting drafted and achieving their dreams of playing professional football. Both were invited to the NFL Combine in February.

The two are looking to add to the 68 Louisiana Tech players selected in past NFL Drafts. Louisiana Tech had two players drafted last season - Quinton Patton and Jordan Mills, recent recipient of the Brian Piccolo Award.

Ellis, a Monroe product of Neville High School, posted 102 total tackles in his four-year career at Louisiana Tech with 9.5 tackles for a loss of 21 yards. He forced two fumbles and recovered two fumbles in his career and was credited with three QB hurries and three pass break-ups. He played in the East-West Shrine Game and the Senior Bowl this year.

Enemkpali started all 12 games for the Bulldogs at right end, compiling 47 total tackles (21 solo, 26 assisted) with 11 tackles for a loss of 43 yards. He registered a team-best 5.5 sacks for a loss of 33 yards and was one of only two defensive linemen in the country to post multiple interceptions this season with two picks returned for 22 yards. A native of Pflugerville, Texas, he led the team with seven QB hurries and was also credited with a pass break-up. Enemkpali was named first team All-Conference USA and first team All-Louisiana following his senior campaign.

The first round of the NFL Draft begins Thursday at 7 p.m. CT while the second and third rounds will be on Friday at 6 p.m. The remainder of the NFL Draft will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
