POST-GAME NOTES
• LA Tech captains for tonight's game vs. Oklahoma: Houston Bates, Kenneth Dixon, Tony Johnson and Hunter Lee.
• Attendance for tonight's game: 85,063
• LA Tech had a combined nine players notch their first career start on Saturday vs. OU: Houston Bates, De'Angelo Brooks, Darrell Brown, Joseph Brunson, Josh Gaston, Richard Greenwalt, Marlon Seets, Cody Sokol and Paul Turner.
• Oklahoma is now 1-0 against Louisiana Tech in the series history with tonight's game being the first meeting between the two teams.
• After tonight's game, the Bulldogs are now 51-51-5 all-time in season openers.
• Louisiana Tech started the first half with the ball after Oklahoma deferred to the second half.
• At halftime, No. 4/3 Oklahoma led 31-3 over Louisiana Tech
• Louisiana Tech won the turnover battle against the Sooners, who had one interception and lost a fumble in the game. The Bulldogs had one turnover and three fumbles on the night, but LA Tech recovered all three fumbles to keep possession.

OFFENSE
• Fifth-year Iowa transfer Cody Sokol made his first career start at quarterback for the Bulldogs tonight versus the Sooners. Sokol ended the night 22-36 for 191 yards, 2 TD and 1 INT.
• Sterling Griffin led the Bulldogs in receiving with seven catches for 74 yards versus the Sooners.
• Kenneth Dixon caught a six-yard touchdown pass from Cody Sokol for LA Tech's first touchdown of the night to make it a 41-10 lead for OU with 14:49 left in the fourth quarter.
• The touchdown pass to Dixon in the fourth was Sokol's first career touchdown pass and Dixon's third career touchdown reception and the first touchdown of the 2014 season.
• LA Tech WR Trent Taylor ended the first half with three receptions for 46 yards, which led all receivers in yardage for both LA Tech and OU at the break. For the game, Taylor totaled a career-high 68 yards on four receptions with a touchdown catch.
• With 0:37 remaining in the game, Sokol connected with Trent Taylor for a 22-yard touchdown reception to cut Oklahoma's lead to 48-16. The touchdown catch was the first of the season for Taylor and the third of his career. Sokol's touchdown pass was his second of the game.
• Kenneth Dixon was LA Tech's leading rusher as the junior RB ran the ball 16 times for 42 yards on the night.

DEFENSE
• Vontarrius Dora recovered an Oklahoma fumble on the LA Tech 32-yard line with 8:46 remaining in the second quarter. It was Dora's second career fumble recovery. His first recovery dates back to Sept. 22, 2012 when LA Tech defeated Illinois on the road.
• With just over seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, LA Tech DE Houston Bates picked off Oklahoma QB Trevor Knight for his first career interception.
• Kentrell Brice led the LA Tech defense with nine total tackles, while Le'Vander Liggins and Xavier Woods each had seven tackles against Oklahoma.

SPECIAL TEAMS
• For the first time since Nov. 17, 2012, Louisiana Tech had a field blocked. It was the first time Oklahoma blocked a field goal attempt since Brodney Pool did it vs. Oregon (9/18/04).
• Additionally, LA Tech also
• Logan McPherson punted the ball seven times versus OU for a total of 275 yards and an average of 39.3 yards/punt. His longest punt was a 50-yarder and he placed one punt inside the 20 yard line.
• With eight second remaining in the second quarter, R-Fr. kicker Jonathan Barnes connected on a 36-yard field goal to get the Bulldogs on the board. The field goal was Barnes' first career attempt and make.
• Tevin King returned two punts for 36 yards versus the Sooners. His longest return went for 23 yards.

OKLAHOMA
• The Sooners are 49-9-5 all-time in home openers, including a 15-1 mark under Stoops. Oklahoma is 92-22-6 all-time in season openers and has won five straight season openers.
• Oklahoma is now 20-0 all-time against teams currently in Conference USA.
• OU's Jordan Evans was disqualified from the game for a targeting penalty on a hit to LA Tech QB Cody Sokol's helmet.
• With four catches for 49 yards and a touchdown catch, Oklahoma WR Sterling Shepard passed his late father, Derrick Shepard (1,237 yds) for the No. 22 spot in OU history for career receiving yards.
• Oklahoma rushed for five touchdowns on the night, which is the most rushing touchdowns for the Sooners since Oct. 13, 2012 vs. Texas.
