LA Tech Cross Country to Compete in Ken Garland Invitational

Sept. 26, 2014 RUSTON, La. - The Louisiana Tech men's cross country team is set to travel to Denton, Texas to compete in the Ken Garland Invitational, which is scheduled to begin at 10:50 a.m. on Saturday at Eagle Point Cross Country Course.

LA Tech is set to race against a highly competitive field this Saturday in the team's second meet of the season, including a handful of Conference USA teams in UTSA and the host Mean Green.

This weekend will mark the first of two races held in Denton, Texas that Louisiana Tech will compete in, as the Bulldogs will travel back to North Texas on Nov. 3 for the Conference USA Championships. LA Tech will be competing on the same course the Conference USA Championships will be held on later in the season.

Louisiana Tech is coming off a strong showing at its own Mook 5, where the Bulldogs placed five runners in the top six and eight in the top 10 overall. Senior Taylor Ashton will look to build on his performance where he finished in second place at Tech Farm, where the Mook 5 was held for the first time.
