RUSTON ââ'¬" Ashley Santos, Tiara Davenport and Kierra Anthony each scored 19 points and Louisiana Tech shot 63 percent from the field as the Lady Techsters defeated Mississippi College 112-52 at the Thomas Assembly Center Friday night in exhibition action.

Eleven different players scored at least four points for LA Tech as Brandi Wingate (11 points) and Kevione Moten (11 points) joined the double digit crew.

"It was good to have an exhibition game to get some kinks out," said Tech head coach Tyler Summitt. "I saw a lot of things we need to work on. We have one more week to get ready, and we will use that week to focus on those things in practice.

"It was good to see so many players score. I thought our team was very unselfish which is a good sign because we always preach family. I was proud of our team for sharing the ball and for our shooters for knocking them down."

The Lady Techsters hit 42-of-66 field goals, 6-of-12 three-pointers and 22-of-29 free throws in the game while holding Mississippi College to only 33 percent shooting. Tech also forced 30 turnovers in the game, while recording 18 steals.

Tech also outrebounded MC 42-29, although Summitt wasn't completely satisfied with his team's performance on the boards.

"I thought there were times we were more physical, but we are going to make that a point of emphasis this next week getting ready for Wisconsin," Summitt said. "For us to give up 16 offensive rebounds is disappointing but you have to give credit to Mississippi College for working hard to get those. We have to be a lot better on the boards."

Tech led 57-28 at the half and outscored MC 55-24 in the second half. The Lady Techsters open the season Nov. 14 at Wisconsin.
