March 23, 2015 RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech took advantage of the warm, sunny weather in the Ruston area Monday afternoon with a two-hour practice session at Joe Aillet Stadium.
The practice session marked the first time since last Wednesday the Bulldogs were able to take the field as inclement weather on Friday and Saturday postponed attempts to hold the team's fifth practice of the spring.
Players responded with a spirited, fast-paced practice with temperatures in the 70s.
With the warm weather came an offense that started to find its rhythm throughout the two hour practice session with both units able to move the ball during the 30-second drill reps, where each unit gets a chance to move down the field in 30 seconds of game time.
The battle at quarterback continued as Ryan Higgins continues to improve in the offense while Jeff Driskel becomes more familiar with the playbook.
One position with plenty of depth entering the fall will be at running back. Aside from All-American tailback Kenneth Dixon returning for his senior season despite already owning several records in LA Tech's record book, he is supported by a cast of talented running backs that have already shown they can succeed - like Blake Martin and Jarred Craft - and a couple that will be challenging for playing time, such as Tywun Walters and Boston Scott.
Louisiana Tech returns to practice on Wednesday for the team's sixth practice session out of the 15 allotted during the spring.
